EVENING OF ANCIENT CUISINE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every summer, in mid July, location Mirine- Fulfinum relives the spirit of ancient Roman times with traditional ancient dinner. This event is one of the most recognized events in the Municipality Omi\u0161alj, more and more oriented towards tourists, attracting their attention and directing it towards the rich history of Municipality Omi\u0161alj, a history so rich that many famous tourist destinations in Croatia and even the Mediterranean could be envious of.<\/p>\n

With this event we would like to revive the traditional customs of our region and implement them in the tourist offer.<\/p>\n

The evening of ancient cuisine is an interesting gastronomic but also cultural event taking the visitors to ancient times when the Romans used to walk around Fulfinium and enjoy the rich ancient offer of food. Lit by torches, accompanied by ancient music, street artists, gladiators, Roman soldiers, the Emperor and his entourage, the visitors dressed in Roman togas enjoy the ancient atmosphere. Special charm is achieved by the Roman camp which shows the ancient times and presents smiths, pot makers, weavers, cord makers, basket weavers and beauty salons in which one can have their hair arranged in ancient manner or their skin coloured with henna.<\/p>\n

SENSA <\/strong>\u2013 Cheese Days \u2013 Gastronomic offer of dishes and products made of homemade sheep cheese will be held in restaurants in the area of Malinska. The event is linked to the holiday of Assumption. The central event is held on the day of Assumption with a cheese festival on the pier in Malinska, accompanied by the traditional race “Te\u0107 za sir” (“To run for cheese”) and rich gastronomic offer of dishes made of homemade sheep cheese. KRK FAIR \u2013 LOVRE\u010cEVA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Krk Fair \u2013 Lovre\u010deva is the longest-running traditional event in the northern Adriatic, held in the town of Krk since the 16th century.<\/p>\n

Its purpose is to present the rich cultural heritage of the town and the island of Krk through a series of entertainment contents. The event includes a programme that combines history (medieval fair, tournaments, fencing, etc.), tradition (hand-slicing prosciutto competition, traditional fair, etc.), but also modern content.<\/p>\n

The aim is not to recreate history, which is often the case with similar programmes held on our coast, but rather to blend tradition with modernity, as one of the backbones of the tourism brand of the town of Krk.<\/p>\n

There are a number of reasons to visit Krk Fair: from the rich offer of original local and Croatian products, such as Krk cheese, prosciutto, home-made \u0161urlice <\/em>pasta, \u017dlahtina<\/em> wine, liqueurs and other food delicacies, handicrafts and original souvenirs (all home-made and delivered directly from producers), to a unique hand-slicing prosciutto competition in Croatia, and diverse entertainment programmes held at five locations.<\/p>\n

The medieval fair in Kamplin Square will take you back to the time of the Frankopan counts of Krk together with other surprises that turn the town of Krk into a big stage featuring programmes for all tastes and ages\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

OLIVE DAYS<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOlive Days\u201d, as the first event in Croatia in which foreign and domestic tourists participate in picking olives, has been held every year since 1996. In the beginning, it was a tourist event intended for foreign tourists with the aim of extending the tourist season.<\/p>\n

Today, the project features several events: a special art exhibition in the TO\u0160 gallery with themes related to landscapes and olive trees; a sales exhibition of tools and machines for olive growing; sales exhibitions of autochthonous products of the island of Krk and the neighbouring islands (olive oil, goat and sheep cheese, honey, wine, fig brandy), particularly olive oil, and products bearing the label \u201cCroatian Island Product\u201d.<\/p>\n

In cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Directorate for Professional Support to Agriculture and Fisheries, we organize demonstration pruning in olive groves, professional education and training, oil presentations and tastings for olive growers, caterers and chefs, showing them how to properly use and present olive oil.<\/p>\n

A gourmet tour of the restaurants in Punat is organised along with a presentation of how to pair local wines with traditional dishes, all with the aim of promoting the use of olives and olive oil in our everyday diet as well as in restaurants and households. In cooperation with hotels, restaurants and oil mills, olive harvests are organized, expert guidance and introduction to the process of producing extra virgin olive oil with cold pressing, for all ages \u2013 from preschool children to elderly foreign tourists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

FISHERMEN\u2019S DAY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Small towns and villages often hide great traditions, and Ba\u0161ka is certainly no exception thanks to its \u201cFishermen\u2019s Day\u201d.<\/p>\n

Since 1910 and the first competitions in pulling nets between the locals, this event has been held every year to the delight of many visitors who take part in Ba\u0161ka\u2019s traditions and heritage. As an indispensable part of the local tourism offer, the traditional \u201cFishermen\u2019s Day\u201d bring music and many educational and entertaining activities for all generations in a unique setting<\/p>\n

BLACK SHEEP\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

POPI\u2019 I POJEDI (EAT AND DRINK)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Popi’ i pojedi comprises three basic programs held at three weekends during July and August: \u017dlahtina Festival- Razgon, \u0160urlice Days and Krk Wine Days. These events promote local values in manufacture and preparation of food and vine products with presentation of local customs, folk and music tradition. With its varied program and top quality wine and traditional specialty offer, this event is most welcome by domestic and foreign tourists positioning Vrbnik as an oenological and gastronomic center of Kvarner.<\/p>\n

\u017dLAHTINA FESTIVAL<\/strong>, July \u2013 Three- day \u017elahtina festival is the festival of the autochthonous wine sort which made Vrbnik famous. It consists of Days of Open Cellars and celebration of the traditional holiday Razgon. Winery Pavlomir in Novi Vinodolski opens its door on Friday, all Vrbnik cellars are open on Saturday. The cellars can also be visited by a small wine train.<\/p>\n

Razgon is a shepherds\u2019 customs from ancient times celebrated on the first Sunday after the holiday of St. Peter and St. Paul. It celebrates the termination of the period of sheep milking and their release to free grazing. A workshop of wool felting and a fair of autochthonous products are organized. One can taste and buy cheese, olive oil, honey, figs, ecological fruit syrups, jams, pasta, cured meet, natural cosmetics, products made of wool, tiles, wood and ceramics. In the evening there is cultural- entertaining program.<\/p>\n

\u0160URLICE DAYS<\/strong>, July\u00a0 – The visitors can enjoy the famous handmade autochthonous pasta- \u0161urlice. It has been made in the same way for centuries in this area. During the entire week the restaurants prepare \u0161urlice with different sauces at promotional prices.<\/p>\n

On the first and last day of the event tasting of \u0161urlice and wine from Vrbnik wineries is organized in main Vrbnik squares, with special cultural- entertaining program, presentation of \u0161urlice making and a fair of autochthonous products and souvenirs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

With the onset of plague in Dobrinj area in mid 19th century, st. Rok began to be worshipped in \u0160ilo.<\/p>\n

Votive procession starts each 16th August from Polje towards the church in \u0160ilo and it has become the basis of commemorating \u0160ilo Day which is celebrated on the day this saint was worshipped in the middle of the epidemic by our ancestors.<\/p>\n

\u0160ilo Day, Rokova (St. Rocco\u2019s Day) starts with morning reveille at 7 o’clock, by pulling of special fishing net “migavica” and preparation of the caught fish, which is served to all visitors with a glass of “\u017elahtina” wine. It continues with the above-mentioned procession in the afternoon hours and it is concluded with a party and fireworks.<\/p>\n

There is an accompanying event, a century- long “Swimming Marathon \u0160ilo- Crikvenica” held in the eve of Rokova, on the holiday of Assumption of Our Lady, organized by Tourist Board of Crikvenica and starting in \u0160ilo.<\/p>\n

Dan \u0160ila, \u201eRokova\u201c, po\u010dinje jutarnjom budnicom u 7 sati, potezanjem mre\u017ee migavice, te se ulov iz mre\u017ee priprema i djeli svim posjetiteljima uz \u010da\u0161u vrbni\u010dke \u017elahtine,\u00a0 nastavlja se ve\u0107 spominjanom procesijom u popodnevnim satima, te zavr\u0161ava u no\u0107nim satima fe\u0161tom i vatrometom.
\nPopratna je manifestacija stolje\u0107e stari \u201ePliva\u010dki maraton \u0160ilo \u2013 Crikvenica\u201c, koji se odr\u017eava dan uo\u010di Rokove, na Veliku Gospu u organizaciji TZG Crikvenice sa startom sa parapeta iz \u0160ila.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
