On Friday, May 8th at 7:00 PM, Restaurant Vila Rova in Malinska opens the new season of culinary evenings with guest chefs, Kvarner on Your Plate.

This special dinner, the first of six planned in this year’s series, will host one of Croatia’s most accomplished chefs. Guest chef Deni Srdoč will join resident chef Marin Pleše in the kitchen. Both chefs are proud representatives of the Kvarner region, and this event marks their first-ever collaboration. The Kvarner on Your Plate event series was created in collaboration with the Kvarner Tourist Board, marking the year in which Kvarner proudly holds the title of European Region of Gastronomy.

Chef Deni Srdoč is recognized as the only chef in Croatia to have earned a Michelin star in two different restaurants (Draga di Lovrana and Nebo). His talent and excellence have been further confirmed by his inclusion in the Top 100 Best Chefs in the World list for two consecutive years. Deni’s style blends tradition and modern art, drawing on Italian-French-Spanish influences which he transforms into creative, globally relevant dishes. He is currently focused on opening his new restaurant, DENA, in Frankfurt.

Chef Marin Pleše, a native of Malinska, honed his skills at top Croatian and international restaurants, including the world-renowned El Celler de Can Roca (***). Driven by a desire to elevate the island’s gastronomy, Marin creates contemporary cuisine at Restaurant Vila Rova that honors Krk’s heritage and local produce. His vision has earned him the titles of Young Talent of the Year of Croatia by Gault&Millau. Under his leadership, Vila Rova received a Michelin recommendation in 2025, joined the JRE association, and was named the Best Hotel Restaurant in Croatia.
